Privacy in plain English.

StayTuned is a calendar feed service. It does not require an account, does not ask for your email, and does not track you across the web. This page explains, in detail, what data the service does touch, what cookies the website sets, and what your rights are.

TL;DRThe 30-second version
  • 01
    No account
You never sign up. There is no user record.
  • 02
    No ads
No advertising network is loaded on any page.
  • 03
    Analytics only if you agree
Google Analytics loads only after you choose “OK, fine” in the cookie banner. “Just the essentials” keeps it off.
  • 04
    Essential cookies are first-party
Theme, your consent choice and — once you pick events or subscribe — your selection and subscription link. Google Analytics cookies are set only with consent.
  • 05
    Logs purged in 14 days
Server access logs are retained briefly for abuse prevention, then deleted.
  • 06
    You can be forgotten today
There is almost nothing to forget — but contact details are at the bottom.
01

Who runs StayTuned

StayTuned is operated by SolveMe Solutions, a small software company registered in the European Union. We build calendar tooling and a few other utilities. We are not VC-backed and we are not for sale. We are the data controller for any personal data processed via this site, within the meaning of the GDPR.

02

What data we touch

StayTuned is designed around the principle that the less data we have, the less can ever go wrong. In practice that means:

  • Your tag selection — When you build a calendar feed, your chosen topics are encoded directly into the URL of the .ics file. We do not store a copy on our servers.
  • Calendar feed requests — When your calendar client (Google, Apple, Outlook, etc.) fetches your .ics file, our server sees the URL, your IP address, and your User-Agent. This is logged for up to 14 days for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
  • Event data — Events come from public sources (sports leagues, broadcasters, official press materials). We count anonymous page views per event — no cookies, no identifiers — to show which events are trending.
  • Browser preferences — When you visit stay-tuned.io in a browser, two preferences may be saved locally so the page remembers your choices — see Cookies below.
03

What we do not collect

For absolute clarity, here is a list of categories of data that StayTuned does not touch at all:

  • Your name, email, phone, or address — There is no signup. If you send a report or message through the site, we keep only what you write, to handle it.
  • Analytics without your consent — Unless you accept analytics in the cookie banner, no analytics script loads and no clicks, scrolls or sessions are recorded.
  • Fingerprinting signals — No canvas, font, or device-graph fingerprinting.
  • Cross-site tracking — No third-party advertising or social pixels are embedded.
  • Payment data — There are no payments. Pricing is $0.00.
04

Cookies

The site stores up to four essential first-party entries (technically localStorage, treated as cookies under the ePrivacy Directive): your theme, your consent choice and — only after you subscribe or pick events — your subscription link with chosen topics and the events waiting to be added. If you choose “OK, fine”, Google Analytics also sets its own cookies to measure visits in aggregate; with “Just the essentials” it never loads.

A small banner appears on your first visit to confirm you understand the above. If you choose “Just the essentials”, only the essential entries listed above are stored and Google Analytics never loads.

You can change your choice at any time by clicking the small cookie chip in the corner of any page, or by clearing site data in your browser.

05

Server logs and retention

Our edge servers keep short-lived access logs containing IP address, the requested URL, response code, and User-Agent string. We use these logs only to detect abuse (e.g., one client requesting the same feed 10,000 times an hour) and to debug outages. Logs are automatically deleted after 14 days.

We do not aggregate logs into analytics dashboards, sell them, or share them with third parties — with the exception of lawful disclosure to authorities where we are legally required to do so.

06

Third parties (sub-processors)

A small number of vendors process data on our behalf in order to keep the service running. Each is listed below with the data they see and where it is processed.

  • Hetzner (DE) — Hosting for the main servers and Redis cache. Sees raw HTTP requests.
  • Cloudflare (EU traffic via Frankfurt/Amsterdam) — CDN and DDoS protection. Sees IP and request metadata; does not see cookie contents.
  • Backblaze B2 (EU) — Backup of event data only — never logs or any user-derived data.
  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) — Only with your consent: page views and feature events (e.g. calendar added), a pseudonymous identifier and truncated IP. May be processed in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Apart from optional Google Analytics (listed above, only with your consent), we do not transfer personal data outside the EEA.

07

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Even though we barely have any data on you, you still have the following rights under EU and UK data-protection law:

  • Right of access — Ask us what we have. The answer is almost always: an IP-address entry in the last 14 days of logs.
  • Right to erasure — Ask us to delete it. We will, within 7 days.
  • Right to object — Object to processing for the (very narrow) abuse-prevention purpose. We will explain the legal basis and consider the request.
  • Right to lodge a complaint — You can complain to your local Data Protection Authority. We will never retaliate or restrict service for it.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from any address. We do not require ID verification for trivial requests because there is no account to verify against — but we may ask for clarification on what specifically you want erased.

08

Children

StayTuned is a general-audience service. It does not collect personal data, so it does not knowingly collect data from children either. If a parent or guardian believes their child has, against the odds, ended up in our logs and would like that record purged sooner than the standard 14 days, email [email protected] and we will action it immediately.

09

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how data is handled, we will publish the change on this page at least 30 days in advance and bump the version number at the top. We will not retroactively widen our use of any data already collected.
