Douglas Stuart, Marlon James & Elizabeth Strout Among 13 Authors On The Booker Prize Longlist; Organizers Say 2026 Selection “Rewards Risk”

The 13-strong Booker Prize longlist is out with organizers saying this year’s selection is one that rewards risk. The longlist includes Douglas Stuart with ‘John of John’ and Marlon James with ‘The Disappearers’ – both writers are previous winners and have film and TV connections.

The Booker Prize has been awarded since 1969 and has a unique eligibility requirement: only books published in the UK are considered, despite the global reach of its authors.
